IRAN REFUSES DIRECT TALKS WITH US IN DOHA AS TEHRAN DEMANDS CEASEFIRE COMPLIANCE BEFORE NUCLEAR NEGOTIATIONS

Iran says it will not hold direct talks with the United States in Doha until the terms of the existing ceasefire memorandum of understanding are fully implemented — with Qatar's Foreign Ministry confirming there will be no face-to-face meeting between Iranian officials and US envoy Steve Witkoff on Tuesday.

Washington had hoped to use the sixty-day negotiating window to press Tehran on its nuclear enrichment programme, but Iran says the priority is ensuring the US-Iran ceasefire holds.

Tehran has also been pushing for a trilateral committee to safeguard Lebanon's sovereignty as part of the broader peace deal.
