UEFA is holding an emergency meeting on Wednesday to coordinate European opposition to FIFA's plan to privatise the FIFA World Cup, with a potential boycott of the tournament under discussion.
FIFA announced on Tuesday that it would create a new subsidiary — opening the door for private investors to buy minority stakes in an entity valued at around twenty billion dollars.
The plan has drawn fierce criticism from European leaders and football governing bodies.
