Gunman kills one, injures 5 at NYC hospital

A man has killed at least one person and injured five others at a New
York City hospital.

Police say the gunman, who was reportedly a former employee, is now dead.

Active shooter in NYC hospital

Police are responding to a shooting at a New York hospital, with at
least three doctors reportedly shot.

The incident is taking place at the Bronx-Lebanon Hospital.

US “likely” to ban Japanese investigators from interviewing navy crew

The United States is unlikely to let Japanese investigators interview
a US navy crew, who were manning a missile destroyer.

Myanmar refuses to allow for UN investigations into Rohingya human rights abuses

UN urges Iraq to stop forced expulsions from Mosul

With Iraqi security forces attacking the last remnants of ISIL areas in the old city of Mosul, the United Nations has called for an end to forceful evictions of people with suspected ties to ISIL.


The UN Human Rights Council says it has received reports that people and families suspected of being associated with ISIL members have been threatened, and made to leave by a deadlines or face forced expulsion.

North Korea a menace - Pres. Trump

North Korea's nuclear ambitions and also trade topped the agenda for the meetings between U.S. President Donald Trump and South Korea's President Moon Jae-In.

The two men made brief public statements in the Rose Garden, each taking a different approach on the threat that North Korea poses.

Venus Williams faces lawsuit over fatal car crash

Pres. Trump targets trade

U.S. President Donald Trump wants to eliminate all American trade deficits, starting with talks with South Korea's President Moon Jae-In.

According to reporting in the new political publication Axios, the American president is seriously considering imposing significant tarriffs, despite the vast majority of his cabinet opposing any moves which would lead to a trade war.

SARIN GAS 'WAS USED' IN APRIL SYRIA ATTACK

Sarin gas was used in an attack in Syria in April which left 90 people dead, according to the global chemical weapons watchdog.

University in eastern Ukraine hit by likely explosion

A university in eastern Ukraine was partially destroyed, possibly by a bomb explosion, local authorities say. NEW GRENFELL CLAIMS WITH COUNCIL UNDER PRESSURE

It's reported that the refurbishment of Grenfell Tower in London saw cheaper cladding fitted to the building than had initially been proposed.

The claims come as Kensington and Chelsea Council come under increasing pressure over the blaze in west London which killed at least 80 people on June 14th.

India's Opposition parties to skip GST launch

50 Indian political parties will boycott the midnight launch planned for the Goods and Service Tax. The Indian government has appealed to them to reconsider their decision.

The Opposition has called the event 'political gimmickry.'

The government claims that GST is going to be a game-changing tax regime that will make India one uniform market and do away with red tape and corruption.
