The trial of Paul Manafort began Tuesday in Alexandria, Virginia. 


The former campaign chairman of U.S. President Donald Trump has been accused of tax evasion and bank fraud.


This is the first trial in Special Counsel Robert Mueller's Russia probe.

In India's northeastern state of Assam, the Indian government has released the result of a census that entailed 32 million citizens submitting proof that they are Indian citizens.  

The census started three years ago and 90% of the states citizens have been given a clean chit. However there's now a doubt about the citizenship of 4 million people.

Pres. Trump threatens to shutdown U.S. government


President Trump says he has no problem triggering a government shutdown if congress fails to back his immigration policies

Speaking alongside the Italian Prime Minister, Trump repeated his threat to close the federal government unless funding for his border wall is approved by US lawmakers

Government funding runs out at the end of September.

Trump's position, which has been criticized by members of his own party, hasn't come as a surprise.

Last March the U.S. President reluctantly signed a trillion-dollar spending bill which didn't

Maharashtra protests reach Mumbai, trains and roads blocked

INTRO:

Protests are taking place in parts of the Indian state of Maharashtra, including the financial capital Mumbai, to demand government jobs and education.

Some roads and train routes have been blocked by the protestors.
