Sony Announces Expanded VOD Release For 'The Interview'

Sony has announced it's added more viewing options for its controversial comedy "The Interview".


The film, blamed for triggering a massive cyber attack on Sony's movie studio, will be available to rent or buy on most cable and satellite systems and nearly double the number of theaters will screen it this weekend.

British ebola nurse receives treatment in London hospital



The British woman who has been diagnosed with the ebola virus after spending time in Sierra Leone, is undergoing treatment at the London Royal Free Hospital.


Doctors treating Pauline Cafferky says she is in an isolation tent and is as well as can be hoped for at this stage of the illness.


Her treatment so far has gone smoothly and she's been able to sit up, talk to family members via an intercom and has been eating, drinking and reading.


Though her doctors, Michael Jacobs says the next few days will be critical for her

US Eases Oil Export Ban

The Obama administration has begun to ease America's 40 year ban on exporting crude oil.

The US Department of Commerce has told oil companies they can begin to export shipments of condensate - a particular high grade form of crude - without going through the formal approval process.

QZ8501 BODIES RETURNED TO SURABAYA

The first two bodies retrieved from the crashed AirAsia flight QZ8501 have arrived back in the city of Surabaya.

The Airbus A320 disappeared on Sunday flying from the Indonesian city of Surabaya to Singapore.

Seven bodies have been retrieved by authorities but the salvage effort is now being hindered by strong winds and tides.

QZ8501 was carrying 137 adult passengers, 17 children and 1 infant, as well as 2 pilots and five crew.

AirAsia Chief Executive Tony Fernandes says the search for the aircraft itself has entered a difficult phase.

9 DEAD IN EDMONTON 'MASS MURDER'

9 people have been found dead in the Canadian city of Edmonton after what police are calling a 'mass murder' linked to domestic violence.

The gunman is thought to have killed himself as well as six adults and two children.

Palestinian Observer Condemns UN Security Council Rejection of Resolution

The Security Council has voted against a resolution that would require Israel to withdraw by the end of 2017 and for a peace agreement to be in place within the next 12 months.

Israel is due to hold a general election in March of next year and says the vote imposes further divisions between the two sides.

The United States and Australia voted against, eight nations voted in favour and five abstained.

The resolution which required 9 votes also called for a peace agreement between Israel and the Palestinians to be in place within 12 months.

Security experts claim former employees hacked Sony

Security experts investigating the hack against Sony Pictures claim the attack could have been carried out by disgruntled former employees of the firm and not North Korea.

US involved in recovery mission for missing AirAsia plane- bodies found

Indonesian rescuers have recovered bodies and debris from the sea off the coast of Borneo, from AirAsia Flight QZ8501, which lost contact early Sunday during a storm.

The plane, which was carrying 162 people, was flying from the Indonesian city of Surabaya to Singapore.

Boat fire rescue operation continues

A number of British families are among those waiting for news after relatives were on-board a ferry which caught fire near Greece...

422 passengers and 56 crew members were on the boat which was en-route from Greece to Italy.

New York Police Commissioner criticizes officers' "inappropriate" behaviour

New York's top policeman has heavily criticized the "inappropriate"
behaviour of officers who turned their back on the city's Mayor during
a colleague's funeral.

In a show of disrespect dozens of officers faced the other way when
mayor Bill de Blasio spoke at the funeral of one of the two policeman
shot dead in their patrol car.

De Blasio has come under criticism for seeming to side with
anti-police protesters, who have campaigned against the killing of two
unarmed black civilians by white officers.

Speaking to CBS New York Police Commissioner Bill Bratton showed his
support for the Mayor and condemned the officers' actions.

AirAsia boss offers support to missing passengers families

The CEO of AirAsia says his company's prime concern is supporting the
families while rescuers search for the missing plane.

The aircraft disappeared with 162 people onboard. So far no wreckage
has been found.

AirAsia CEO Tony Fernandes held a press conference and met with
families at the airport in Indonesia from where the plane departed.

Fernandes says he now has one major concern.

"No risk" of Ebola outbreak in US

The man appointed as the US Ebola czar says there's no risk of an
outbreak in America.

It comes as a medical technician in Atlanta is monitored for possible
signs of the virus.

Ron Klain also says good progress is being made in Africa.

was far from defeated.

Afghanistan combat mission ends

The United States and NATO have formally ended its 13-year combat
mission in Afghanistan.

A ceremony has been held in the Afghan capital of Kabul to mark the
next phase which focuses on supporting local troops.

AirAsia boss calls plane disappearance “worst nightmare"

AirAsia CEO Tony Fernandes has called the disappearance of one of his
company's planes his "worst nightmare".

He was speaking at a press conference at Surabaya airport, in
Indonesia from where the plane departed for Singapore.

The rescue operation for the plane and its 162 passengers and crew
will restart on Monday morning.

Missing AirAsia aircraft search called off for night

Rescue operations to find the missing AirAsia aircraft have been
called off the night.

It disappeared with 162 people on board while traveling from Indonesia
to Singapore.

No distress calls came from the aircraft but bad weather was reported
in the area.
