Trump launches Twitter attack on Puerto Rico mayor

President Trump has launched a blistering attack against the Mayor of San Juan, the capital of Puerto Rico, accusing her of "poor leadership" following the hurricane that destroyed much of the American island.


The President, who is spending the weekend at his New Jersey golf resort, says the Puerto Ricans want "everything to be done for them".

UN to continue Burundi investigation

The United Nations Human Rights Council has voted to press ahead with

Russia issues warning to CNN over media law violation

Russia's communications watchdog issued a warming to the U.S. TV network CNN over a "trivial violation" of the country's law on media. UN calls for action over Myanmar's Rohingya refugees

The United Nations Security Council has held its first public meeting on Myanmar in over eight years, to discuss the violence and worsening Rohingya refugee crisis.

The UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called on the Myanmar government to end military action, allow aid into the country, and let the refugees return home.

He also demanded the Rohingya Muslim minority be officially recognized by the government and be granted citizenship.

The UN estimates during the last 5 weeks of violence more than 500,000 people have fled to neighboring Bangladesh.

Emergency supplies finally head to Puerto Rico after Trump relaxes shipping rules

US President Donald Trump has suspended restrictions that have stopped vitally-needed supplies from being shipped to hurricane-ravaged Puerto Rico.


But the President's move comes a week after Hurricane Maria brought havoc to the island.

UN: Myanmar cancels Rohingya monitor visit

The United Nations says the government of Myanmar has stopped UN
monitors from visiting the country to investigate abuse claims against
the Rohingya community.

The UN says more than half a million Rohingya muslims have now fled to
neighboring Bangladesh in the month since the flare up in violence.

White House lifts shipping restrictions to Puerto Rico

US President Donald Trump has waived shipping restrictions to help get fuel and supplies to storm-ravaged Puerto Rico.

Millions of residents are without electricity and clean drinking water one week after Hurricane Maria struck the US territory.
