The petition challenging President Museveni's victory has been thrown out.

Uganda's supreme court says there is no convincing evidence to show that the elections were rigged.

Opposition leader Amama Mbabazi claimed the elections were filled with flaws. However the court found most witness accounts unreliable.

The nine justices ruled that they were satisfied with the results announced, saying they were a true representation of the will of the people of Uganda.

The court however faulted the electoral commission for the late delivery of voting materials to polling centres.

The opposition has accepted the court ruling but say they are not surprised by the decision….

This is the second time Mr Museveni's win is being challenged in court.

In 2006 court found that there were irregularities but not enough to overturn the results.

Museveni will be sworn-in in May, extending his 30 year rule.
