Marking World AIDS Day, New York Eliminates Mother to Child HIV Transmission

New York is marking a victory in the fight against HIV/AIDS - eliminating mother to child transmission in the state.  Ahead of World AIDS Day on December first, New York's Governor, Andrew Cuomo, is set to roll out plans for eliminating AIDS by 2020. 

World Leaders speak at first day of Paris Climate Change Summit

Almost 150 world leaders have spoken in Paris at a climate change conference known as COP21.


Heads of Government pledged to make efforts to reduce emissions and limit future temperatures.


But questions are being raised over what agreements will be made by the end of the 12 day summit in the French capital, as our Correspondent in Paris, Natalie Powell, reports…

Russia to keep anti-doping agency open despite international suspension

Russia's sports minister has said the country's anti-doping agency
will continue to operate, despite Russia's suspension from
international athletics.

It comes after a scathing report alleged state-sponsored doping of athletes.

Paris Terror Suspect Now in Syria

French intelligence authorities believe Salah Abdeslam escaped Belgium and is now hiding out in Syria.

The 26 year old is wanted for the November 13th Paris attacks which killed at least 130 people.

REPORTS: LABOUR TO GET 'FREE VOTE' ON SYRIA AIR STRIKES

It's reported that the leader of the UK's opposition Labour Party is to grant his MPs a free vote on whether Britain should extend air strikes into Syria.

Prime Minister David Cameron wants to hold a vote in parliament on bombing Islamic State positions in Syria - the UK is currently only involved in air strikes in Iraq.

Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn opposes military action in Syria, but many of his MPs believe it should go ahead in the wake of the Paris attacks.

He's understood to be now offering a free vote, but has asked David Cameron to hold an extended two-day debate on the issue in the House of Commons.

Turkish PM Says He Will Not Apologize to Russia

Turkey says it will not apologize for the downing of a Russian jet, despite calls for one from Moscow.

Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu says his country has every right to defend its airspace and territorial integrity.

Russia & Turkey exchange threats as visa-free program ended
