US lays off nearly 200 Russian diplomatic mission staffers

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken expressed regret over the "unfortunate measures" which could limit the U.S. diplomatic outreach in Russia. The step, made to meet the Kremlin's demands to slash the size of America's diplomatic mission in Russia is the latest in a series of reciprocal restrictions that continue to strain U.S.-Russia relations - despite last month's meeting between Presidents Joe Biden and Vladimir Putin in Geneva.
