US President Donald Trump says Israel is "very happy" with the Hamas disarmament deal brokered by his Board of Peace — but a senior Israeli official has told Reuters and local media that Israel does not accept the proposal and will not carry out any withdrawals from Gaza.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has yet to comment publicly on the agreement, which was announced on Thursday night and would require Hamas to surrender its weapons in phases while Israeli forces pull back from the territory.
The deal stipulates that a detailed disarmament roadmap must be finalised within fourteen days.
