French authorities have ordered nearly four thousand more people to evacuate from tourist sites on the Atlantic coast, as wildfires west of Bordeaux flared up again on Tuesday ahead of a fourth heatwave of the summer.
The blazes have already scorched more than four hundred square kilometres of forest in the Gironde region, with fires in France and Spain forcing an estimated three hundred and thirty thousand people from their homes.
Hundreds of evacuees are being sheltered at centres in Bordeaux, where volunteers are providing supplies.
