US President Donald Trump has acknowledged the war in Iran is drawing down American stockpiles of advanced weapons, telling reporters aboard Air Force One on Monday that he would like more of what he called "the more sophisticated stuff" — while saying overall supplies are in "very good shape".
The comments came days after Vice President JD Vance and the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff raised concerns in a White House meeting about depleting the country's missile reserves, with the Pentagon briefly pausing its bombing campaign on Iran on Friday.
Reports suggest the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been pressing for the conflict to be widened — a position at odds with the growing caution within the Trump administration.
