He was chairman of the Tata Group - one of India's largest and oldest conglomerates - for more than two decades.

Florida braces for ‘Mega Milton’

Time has run out for residents of Central Florida to evacuate before monster Hurricane Milton makes landfall. And officials are telling people to hunker down. President Joe Biden says Milton could be the most catastrophic storm of the century. It’s packing wind gusts of 150mph  and is expected to bring a storm surge of up to 13 feet when it hits late Wednesday into Thursday.  Toni Waterman has more.

Biden and Bibi "direct & productive" first conversation since Iran attack

US states sue TikTok, calling it 'digital nicotine'

More than a dozen US states are filing lawsuits against TikTok because of its effects on teens and other young users.


A bipartisan coalition of attorneys general allege the social media giant is addictive and harmful to users' mental health.


TikTok says the claims are "inaccurate and misleading."

UN forced to shut some aid operations in Northern Gaza

The United Nations says no aid is currently reaching northern Gaza.
Speaking on Wednesday, UNRWA Head, Philippe Lazzarini said at least
400 thousand people are trapped in the area.

European Commission President attacks Viktor Orban over war in Ukraine


Ursula von der Leyen has attacked Hungary's leader Viktor Orban, after he called for the European Union to negotiate with Russia over the war in Ukraine.

The President of the European Commission gave a speech to the European Parliament in Strasbourg on Wednesday.

Iran Rejects UK Intelligence’s Plot “Accusations”

Iran has rejected "accusations" made by the UK's Intelligence Agency (MI5) Chief that Iran is behind numerous potentially lethal plots on British soil.

Swift Security Decision Questioned

Senior UK politicians have been accused of putting 'undue influence' on law enforcement to provide royal-level security for Taylor Swift.


The Metropolitan Police reportedly agreed to a blue-light escort after interventions by the home secretary and the mayor of London.


Taylor Swift performed five shows at Wembley in August - a week after her Austrian gigs were cancelled because of a terror threat.

MILTON BEARS DOWN ON FLORIDA'S WEST

The United Nations Secretary General has written to Israeli Prime
Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressing his "profound concern" about
draft legislation that could prevent UNRWA from continuing its work in
the Occupied Palestinian Territory.
On Sunday Israel's Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee approved two
bills aimed at ending the activity and privileges in Israel of the
humanitarian agency, UNRWA.
Speaking in New York on Tuesday, Guterres says this move will
suffocate efforts to ease the suffering and tensions in Gaza.

Antonio Guterres calls for immediate ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon

United Nations humanitarians in Lebanon have described how challenging
it has become to reach some 1.2 million people who have fled heavy
Israeli bombardment and evacuation orders.
