Two stolen Van Gogh paintings recovered from Italian mafia

Two Van Gogh paintings stolen from Amsterdam in 2002 have been recovered by Italian police. 

Both works are described as priceless but neither one was insured at the time of the theft.

Investigators Look Into Cause of New Jersey Train Crash

Investigators in the US are trying to work out why a commuter train crashed into a busy station just outside New York City on Thursday, killing one woman and injuring over a hundred people.

The station itself is closed as authorities assess the structural damage, but experts are already looking through video evidence.

The crash occurred in Hoboken, New Jersey, and the state's Senator Cory Booker says investigators are following usual procedures, but a safety system called Positive Train Control needs to be put in place urgently:

Investigation into fatal NJ train crash

An investigation has begun after one person died and 108 people were
injured in a train crash in New Jersey.

Part of the Hoboken station collapsed after the train failed to stop
and ploughed into the waiting area.

Uganda has described the killing of Alfred Olango as tragic and regrettable

Olango was shot in the US state of California on Tuesday evening.

Margaret Kafeero, the head of public diplomacy says  Kampala has now ordered its mission in the United States to investigate 

She says before the Washington embassy can extend any possible consular services, Kampala needs to confirm the nationality of the victim

It comes after recent protests in the US over police shootings of black men 

In Uganda, many on social media condemn this fatal incident while other posts carry sympathy messages to Olango's family...

NTSB Sends Team to Hoboken Crash Site

The National Transportation Safety Board in the US is sending a team of investigators to look into Thursday's fatal train crash in New Jersey.

One person died and around 75 were injured when a commuter train ploughed into a station in Hoboken, just outside New York City.

California Police Kill Man Whose Weapon Was E-Cigarette

The FBI is investigating the police killing of an unarmed black man whose e-cigarette was reportedly mistaken for a weapon.
