Uganda has described the killing of Alfred Olango as tragic and regrettable

Olango was shot in the US state of California on Tuesday evening.

Margaret Kafeero, the head of public diplomacy says  Kampala has now ordered its mission in the United States to investigate

She says before the Washington embassy can extend any possible consular services, Kampala needs to confirm the nationality of the victim

It comes after recent protests in the US over police shootings of black men

In Uganda, many on social media condemn this fatal incident while other posts carry sympathy messages to Olango's family...

The US ambassador to Uganda Deborah Malac, also shared her sympathies via Twitter
