NATIONAL RALLY'S LE PEN CONVICTED OF EMBEZZLEMENT LIKELY RUINING CHANCES OF FOURTH PRESIDENTIAL RUN

Like-minded politicians from around Europe are sending messages of support to three-time French presidential candidate Marine Le Pen who has been convicted of embezzlement by a French court — likely scuppering her chances of running in the next presidential election.

The judge said Le Pen had attempted to "bypass democracy" by diverting 3 million dollars of EU funds to staff working for her political party.

Le Pen's supporters say the decision was politically motivated by her opponents in Paris and Brussels.

Antonio Guterres calls for calls for calm in South Sudan
