EU launches new legal action against UK over Northern Ireland Protocol

The European Commission has launched four new legal proceedings against the United Kingdom over alleged violations of a treaty governing post-Brexit trading arrangements with Northern Ireland.


The Northern Ireland Protocol was agreed when the UK left the European Union, as a means to avoid creating a hard border on the island of Ireland.

'Critical incident' declared at UK's Port of Dover as queues of holiday goers grow

US stocks rise on Tesla earnings

better-than-expected earnings results from Tesla.

Pelosi says Biden has not communicated with her about proposed Taiwan trip

The Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi has sidestepped questions about whether she still intends to visit Taiwan next month.


On Wednesday, prior to his positive Covid-19 test, President Biden said the Pentagon had raised objections to the Speaker's planned visit to Taipei.


She would become the highest-level US government official to visit Taiwan since 1997.


Speaking to reporters in Washington, Mrs. Pelosi refused to disclose whether she still plans to make the trip, and said she has not discussed the matter with the President.

US probe China over intel capture: Reuters
