In a crucial judgement, India's Supreme Court has allowed a woman to terminate her pregnancy after 24 weeks – setting a precedent that is likely to expand the right to abortion.
A lower court had earlier said an abortion at 24 weeks was tantamount to intentionally killing a fetus – which is outlawed in India.
