Hong Kong government dismisses claims it's clamping down on press freedoms

The Hong Kong government is dismissing accusations that the city's controversial national security law is undermining the freedom of the press. The international press freedom watchdog, Reporters Without Borders, says the law poses a "grave threat" to journalism, and is being used to stifle political dissent.

Japan to declare virus state of emergency three months ahead of Olympics

UK PM under fire for Covid text messages with Brexit businessman

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson is refusing to apologise over private text messages that reveal he offered tax privileges to British businessman Sir James Dyson, insisting he did the "entirely the right thing."

At least 22 Covid-19 patients die following oxygen leak at Indian hospital

At least 22 Covid-19 patients have died after an oxygen tanker leaked outside a hospital in Maharashtra - the Indian state worst hit by the latest wave of coronavirus infections.

European Super League plan in tatters as all English teams quit

All six Premier League teams involved in the proposed European Super League have withdrawn from the competition.


Manchester City were the first club to officially pull out. Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United, and Tottenham all then followed suit.

DRC-UGANDA COURT CASE
