Joe Biden makes ground in key states -- GA and PA ones to watch

All eyes are on the state of Nevada in the United States, which is yet to declare for either Presidential candidate. 


Vote counting continues in other battleground states as well, including Pennsylvania and Georgia, though Joe Biden is making ground in both. 


Donald Trump is demanding a recount in Wisconsin, and his campaign has also filed a lawsuit in Michigan.

BIDEN NEARING VICTORY

Joe Biden could be on course to become the 46th president of the United States.

Ballots are continuing to be counted in a handful of states following the presidential election but he is nearing the 270 electoral college votes.

But incumbent Donald Trump is still threatening legal action, after claiming without evidence that there'd been voter fraud.

RUSSIA'S PARLIAMENT PROPOSES IMMUNITY FOR EX-PRESIDENTS

Russia's lower house is proposing legislation that would extend judicial immunity to ex-presidents.

The law would make it harder for an ex-president to be tried for crimes committed during their term in office, once no longer president.

Ethiopia enters second day of military confrontation

Belgium sees first slowdown in new infections for weeks

The average number of new daily coronavirus infections has fallen for the second day in Belgium, in a sign that the strict new measures in place to curb the spread of the virus are taking effect. 

The Belgian Prime Minister Alexander de Croo (PR: CROW) has warned that measures will need to be in place until a vaccine is available, likely in the spring 2021.

BOE PUMPS £150BN INTO UK ECONOMY

The Bank of England is pumping a further £150bn ($195bn) into the UK economy which it expects to recover more slowly because of the latest wave of covid-19 infections.

The Bank believes the UK will avoid another recession, with growth in the first quarter of 2021.

But it is warning unemployment will rise rapidly as government employment support schemes wind down.

India's biggest vaccine maker hopes to deliver doses by January 2021 as cases surge in the country

US markets defy political uncertainty, rally for third day straight

With the US election outcome uncertain, main street braced for a long fight ahead but Wall Street didn't seem to flinch.


US benchmarks rallied for a third day straight, with the Dow trading around 800 points in session highs before closing more than 370 points up.

Biden predicts he'll get enough votes to beat Trump

Democratic Presidential Candidate Joe Biden has told supporters he can see a path to victory.


In a race that's still too close to call, both he and incumbent US President Donald Trump are closely watching battleground states such as Pennsylvania where votes are still being counted.


President Trump has launched legal challenges to temporarily stop the count in Pennsylvania and Michigan and demanded a recount in Wisconsin which his rival Joe Biden is projected to take.
