Philippines Says Has Agreed To Scale Back Military Exercises With US

A Philippine General has said that military officials from the US and the Philippines have agreed to scale back joint exercises and reduce US troop deployments.

But in a joint statement, the two countries also spoke of 'close co-operation'. It comes after President Rodrigo Duterte has spoken against American troops being stationed in the Philippines and threatened to scrap joint exercises.

Cyprus reunification talks end without agreement

Talks aimed at reunifying the island nation of Cyprus have reached an
impasse, according to the United Nations. This comes just two days
after the world body brought Greek Cypriot leader and his Turkish
Cypriot counterpart together for a second round of dialogue in
Switzerland.

UN: Half of world's population will have internet access by end of year

The United Nations has said half of the world's people will have
access to the the internet by the end of 2016.

A UN agency estimates that 45 percent of the global population is
currently online through a rise in 3G and 4G networks.

But that figure still falls short of the UN's goals.

Trump Foundation admits to tax errors, says WashPo

The Washington Post is reporting that Donald Trump's charitable foundation has admitted to errors in its tax filings.

Alleged wrongdoings by the charity were a source of questions during the campaign, and continue to dog the president-elect.

Trump /New York Times meeting 'back-on' after latest twitter bust-up


The US President Elect will meet with the New York Times on Tuesday, according to a Trump spokesperson.

UKIP under investigation for allegedly misspending EU funds

Britain's Electoral Commission has opened an investigation into the finances of the UK's Independent Party or UKIP which came to international prominence during the Brexit campaign for Britain to leave the European Union.

UK's NHS could require Photo ID for treatment

A new proposal by the UK's department of health's senior civil servant, could see NHS patients have to show their passports before receiving health care.

Downing St: "There is no vacancy" for British-US ambassador

The British government has dismissed a suggestion from US President-elect Donald Trump that the lead Brexit figure Nigel Farage could be the next British ambassador to the US...

UK GOVT TO BOOST INTERNET INFRASTRUCTURE

The British government is to announce half a billion dollars in funding for internet infrastructure, as it attempts to boost the economy while moving forward with Brexit.

Chancellor Philip Hammond is expected to pledge the funding in his Autumn Statement on Wednesday - essentially a mini-budget.

Only 2% of the UK currently has a 'full fibre' internet connection - offering superfast speeds.

UK HIT BY FLOODS AFTER STORM ANGUS

Flooding is causing chaos in the UK after Storm Angus brought heavy wind and rain to parts of the country.
