UK GOVT TO BOOST INTERNET INFRASTRUCTURE

The British government is to announce half a billion dollars in funding for internet infrastructure, as it attempts to boost the economy while moving forward with Brexit.

Chancellor Philip Hammond is expected to pledge the funding in his Autumn Statement on Wednesday - essentially a mini-budget.

Only 2% of the UK currently has a 'full fibre' internet connection - offering superfast speeds.

Danny Cox of stockbrokers Hargreaves Lansdown says it's a change in policy from the government.
