UN: Half of world's population will have internet access by end of year

INTRO:

The United Nations has said half of the world's people will have
access to the the internet by the end of 2016.

A UN agency estimates that 45 percent of the global population is
currently online through a rise in 3G and 4G networks.

But that figure still falls short of the UN's goals.

Our UN Correspondent Laura Cantekin reports from New York.
