Friend of San Bernardino attackers arrested on firearms charges

Police in the United States have arrested a friend of the two people who attacked a social services center in San Bernardino 2 weeks ago, killing 14 people.


Enrique Marquez has admitted buying guns for his neighbors, Syed Farook and Tafsheen Malik, after Mr Farook said he didn't think he could pass a background check.

UNSC finance ministers to vote on resolution targeting ISIL funding

Obama: No "credible threat" to strike US during Christmas holidays

President Obama says US intelligence has seen no "credible threat" to attack the country during the approaching holiday season.


He was speaking at the National Counterterrorism Center in Washington, where he and his top officials received a briefing.


The President called on the country to remain vigilant against the possibility of a terror strike, and vowed that US intelligence will be working throughout the Christmas and New Year period to guard against any attack.

UN warns of "civil war" in Burundi

The United Nations Human Rights chief Zeid Ra'ad al Hussein has warned
Burundi is on the "very cusp of a civil war".

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has said he is sending a special
adviser to the region, while the UN continues to consider a
peacekeeping mission.

IMF Stands By Lagarde After Court Summons

The International Monetary Fund is standing by its Managing Director Christine Lagarde who has been ordered to stand trial in France.

She's accused of "negligence" in the handling of a 400 million Euro payout to a politically connected businessman Bernard Tapie.

Lagarde's lawyers say they will fight to keep her out of court.

Argentina lifts currency controls

Chelsea FC sack Jose Mourinho

CAMERON PUSHES EU REFORM IN BRUSSELS

British Prime Minister David Cameron's proposals for EU reforms are on the agenda as leaders meet in Brussels.

However, his call for migrants' welfare payments to be limited faces opposition from some EU states.

The refugee crisis will dominate the summit, but Mr Cameron hopes to secure the first substantial political discussion on reform at the leaders' dinner later.

He's promised to win EU reform ahead of holding an in-out referendum by 2017 on Britain's membership of the bloc.

US and Cuba To Resume Flights

Un-named officials in the US and Cuba have said the two countries are set to announce they'll resume regular commercial flights between them.

It's not clear when the flights would get going, as negotiations between Washington and Havana are still to be completed, but the move comes nearly a year after the two nations began to restore diplomatic ties.

Freddie Gray Case Declared 'Mistrial' In Baltimore

After deliberating for nearly three days, the jury in the case of a Baltimore police officer on trial over the death of Freddie Gray has been unable to reach a verdict.

The judge trying the case of policeman William Porter has declared a mistrial, which means the prosecution may now have to build a new case against the policeman.

25 year old Freddie Gray died in April this year, a week after his neck was broken while riding in the back of a police van.

Police have been stationed around Baltimore to prevent a repeat of the riots that followed Mr. Gray's death, and mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake called on residents to use their right to protest, but calmly:
