After deliberating for nearly three days, the jury in the case of a Baltimore police officer on trial over the death of Freddie Gray has been unable to reach a verdict.
The judge trying the case of policeman William Porter has declared a mistrial, which means the prosecution may now have to build a new case against the policeman.
25 year old Freddie Gray died in April this year, a week after his neck was broken while riding in the back of a police van.
Police have been stationed around Baltimore to prevent a repeat of the riots that followed Mr. Gray's death, and mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake called on residents to use their right to protest, but calmly:
IN: All of us...
OUT: ...our first responders
DUR: 24 seconds
