Biden says it is unlikely that Russia fired the missile that exploded in Poland

US President Joe Biden says it is "unlikely" that the missile responsible for killing two people in Poland was fired from Russia. He’s been leading an emergency meeting of G7 leaders at the G20 summit in Bali, Indonesia.

Stocks rise on inflation hopes

U.S. stocks ticked up Tuesday on hopes that inflation may be starting
to cool in the U.S.

Wholesale prices ticked up less-than-expected last month and comes
days after the release of encouraging consumer price data.

Russian MoD denies missiles hit Polish territory


The Russian Ministry of Defence has denied that its missiles hit Polish territory, after an intense bombardment of Ukrainian cities.

Local authorities in Poland say two people were killed in a blast in a village in the far east of the country.

Western allies are now scrambling to establish whether a Russian missile crossed into Poland, which is a member of NATO.

Polish government convenes emergency meeting amid reports Russian missiles killed 2 on NATO soil

Poland's government has convened emergency meetings of its top national security officials after reports that two Russian missiles landed on a farm near the Ukrainian border, killing two local residents.


There are unconfirmed reports that the missiles strayed from their Ukrainian targets, but Poland is a member of NATO and President Biden has pledged to defend every inch of alliance territory.

Russia anger at UN reparations vote
