UN CONCERNED ABOUT CIVILIAN ATTACKS IN UKRAINE

The United Nations Security Council received an update from UN
agencies working in Ukraine.
According to the Under Secretary General for Political Peacebuilding
Affairs, it is gravely concerned about the destruction of critical
energy infrastructure, such as power plants.
Rosemary DiCarlo says the direct attacks on civilians in Ukraine needs
to come to an end.

House Committee Issues Subpoena to Donald Trump

The US House Committee investigating the January 6th attack on the US Capitol has issued a subpoena to former President Donald Trump. 

He has not indicated if he plans to comply with the subpoena.

Massive layoffs in store for Twitter: Report

According to the Washington Post, massive layoffs are in store for Twitter employees - regardless of who runs the company.

The report says prospective buyer Elon Musk is planning to slash the platform's workforce by nearly 75 percent, while the current management is eyeing a slightly smaller reduction.

UN slaps sanctions on Haitian gangs

New sanctions including arms embargoes and asset freezes will be
placed on those engaged with criminal activities in Haiti.

It comes after the United Nations Security Council unanimously adopted
a resolution to try and improve security in the Caribbean nation.

UGANDAN SENTENCES TO LIFE FOR WILDLIFE TRADE

France, Spain and Portugal announce new gas pipeline

UKRAINE THANKS GERMANY FOR MISSILE DEFENCE SYSTEM

The Ukrainian Government has confirmed that an advanced air defence system handed over by Germany in recent weeks is already operational and intercepting Russian missiles.

Google fined $162mn for anticompetitive practices in India

India's competition regulator has fined Google $162 million for anticompetitive practices related to Android devices.
