UN slaps sanctions on Haitian gangs

New sanctions including arms embargoes and asset freezes will be
placed on those engaged with criminal activities in Haiti.

It comes after the United Nations Security Council unanimously adopted
a resolution to try and improve security in the Caribbean nation.

Violent gangs have blocked a key fuel terminal in the country
exacerbating what aid groups call a rapidly escalating crisis.

William Denselow reports from UN headquarters in New York.
