Massive storm cuts power to tens-of-thousands in Texas

More than 110 million Americans  - from Maine to the US-Mexico border - are under winter storm warnings as a massive storm sweeps east.

Tens-of-thousands of people are already without power in Texas.

As Toni Waterman explains from Austin, the storm is dredging up painful memories of last year's power grid collapse.

Bank of England raises interest rates in bid to contain inflation

UK GOVERNMENT ANNOUNCES SUPPORT PACKAGE AHEAD OF ENERGY BILL PRICE HIKE

UK Chancellor Rishi Sunak has set out government plans to support households ahead of imminent increases to utility bills. A cap on energy prices is set to be lifted in April - a move that will add an extra $940 to the outgoings of the average home.
