UK SETS OUT 'COST OF LIVING CRISIS' RESPONSE

The UK government's setting out interventions to try and ease a cost of living crunch.

Record-high wholesale gas costs are feeding into soaring household bills, and wider inflation.

Households are set to have to pay hundreds of pounds more for their energy bills over the next year - as a price cap is raised.

Director of Policy at National Energy Action - Peter Smith - says the government will need to go further than today's announcements for the poorest households.
