Steven Bannon, former top Trump aide calls campaign meeting with the Russians "treasonous"

President Trump's former chief strategist Steven Bannon says a meeting between Donald Tump Junior the Russians was "treasonous" and "unpatriotic".


He makes the explosive claims in a new book due to be published later this year.

India cancels $500 million deal for Israeli anti-tank missiles

Weeks ahead of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's visit to India, the Narendra Modi government in Delhi has cancelled a crucial defence deal.

India was slated to sign a contract to buy the anti-tank guided missiles from Israeli defence giant Rafael.

India is one of Israel's largest buyers of military equipment.

Thousands of homes are without power after the latest winter storm of the season hit the UK.

Storm Eleanor has now moved out into the North Sea but leaves windy, and in places, dangerous conditions behind it.

Gusts of 100 miles an hour were recorded in some parts of Britain, and the storm has caused disruption to transport networks in Britain.

NHS PRESSURE GROWS IN ENGLAND

The UK government is under growing pressure over what's being called a 'winter crisis' in its National Health Service.

NHS organisations in England are delaying as many as 55 000 non-urgent operations and procedures until the end of the month.

And hospitals are being urged to delay routine outpatient appointments so emergency care can be prioritised.

The NHS has seen huge demand for services over the Christmas and New Year period, partly because of patients with winter vomiting bugs and flu.

But the opposition Labour Party says it's partly as a result of a lack of funding from the government.

Nikki Haley takes aim at Iran and North Korea [CLIPS]

Iran's Supreme Leader blames country's "enemies" for street protests

Iran's Supreme Leader, the Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, is blaming the country's "enemies" for growing street protests and clashes with police that have claimed more than 20 lives.


The protests - the largest in Iran since 2009 - are calling for an end to the country's hardline clerical rule.

Pres. Trump suggests prosecution of Comey, Clinton Aide

U.S. President Donald Trump has suggested on social media that the U.S. Justice Department "must finally act" and possibly prosecute James Comey, while further calling for jail time for Hillary Clinton's top aide, Huma Abedin.

Over the Christmas holidays, the U.S. State Department finally released a set of emails that Huma Abedin had downloaded to her husband's computer, against security protocols.

President Trump has repeatedly urged further investigation, even criminal prosecution, of Hillary Clinton for using a private email server while Secretary of State, even though the U.S. Justice Department only found her actions 'extremely careless.

The tweet may be a distraction, but White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders refused to rule out jail time.

South Korea poised to hold talks with North Korea in hopes of participating in Olympics
