BORIS: RUSSIA RELATIONS 'NOT GOOD'

UK Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson says relations with Russia are 'not on a good footing'.

He's held a spiky press conference in Moscow with Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov.

Mr Lavrov accused the UK of being 'insulting' before their talks.

And the two men clashed over allegations of Russian meddling in western elections.

But Britain's Foreign Secretary still believes relations can be improved.

PUIGDEMONT CALLS FOR MADRID TALKS

Catalonia's former president Carles Puigdemont says there should be new talks with Spain after a snap regional election.

The separatist leader says they should happen in Brussels - where he remains having fled Spain - or another EU country.

Separatist parties hold a small and reduced majority in the regional assembly after the polls.

Spain's government announced the elections after what it says was an illegal October referendum on independence for Catalonia.

Carles Puigdemont says talks with Madrid are the only option.

UK TO RETURN TO 'ICONIC' BLUE PASSPORT

The UK's announced it will return to what it says is an 'iconic' blue passport once the country leaves the EU.

Anyone renewing or applying for a new passport after October 2019 will receive a blue version - rather than the burgundy adopted after Britain joined the European Union.

The blue and gold design first came into use in the UK nearly 100 years ago.
