UN General Assembly to vote on Jerusalem resolution

The entire body of the United Nations General Assembly is set to vote on a resolution to reject the American assertion that Jerusalem should be recognized as the capital of Israel.

The trip of U.S. Vice President Mike Pence to the region has been cancelled, as the Trump administration has been widely criticized for what people in the region call an unjust determination, that the status of Jerusalem should be negotiated between the Israelis and Palestinians.

Ahead of the vote, during a cabinet meeting photo opportunity, U.S. President Donald Trump threatened to cancel aid to any country that would criticize his policy.
