Trump: Tillerson "wasting his time" in talks with North Korea

President Trump has renewed his threat to launch a military strike against North Korea.

On Twitter, he's claimed that Secretary of State Rex Tillerson is "wasting his time" trying to negotiate a diplomatic solution in the Korean Peninsula.

The Secretary of State, who is in China meeting top officials ahead of President Trump's visit to Beijing, has disclosed that back-channel communications have been taking place between the US and North Korea.

Trump launches Twitter attack on Puerto Rico mayor

President Trump has launched a blistering attack against the Mayor of San Juan, the capital of Puerto Rico, accusing her of "poor leadership" following the hurricane that destroyed much of the American island.


The President, who is spending the weekend at his New Jersey golf resort, says the Puerto Ricans want "everything to be done for them".

Pres. Trump defends Puerto Rico response

U.S. President Donald Trump is continuing to defend his administration's response to Hurricane Maria's destruction of Puerto Rico.

UN to continue Burundi investigation

The United Nations Human Rights Council has voted to press ahead with
an investigation looking into suspected crimes against humanity in
Burundi.

A number of African nations voted against the measure and Burundi

UN nuclear watchdog says North Korea recent missile test shows advances

Russia issues warning to CNN over media law violation

Russia's communications watchdog issued a warming to the U.S. TV network CNN over a "trivial violation" of the country's law on media. The sanction came a day after Moscow accused Washington of pressuring the US branch of Russia's state-funded propaganda channel Russia Today (RT). Pres. Trump outlines relief efforts for Puerto Rico

President Trump says it will be a lengthy recovery period for the people of Puerto Rico as the island struggles after Hurricane Maria.  

During a speech in the U.S. capital Trump said the U.S. territory will have to work with Washington to address funding for the overwhelming task ahead.

The Pentagon has now dispatched a 3-star general to lead response efforts in Puerto Rico, with the U.S. President saying 5'000 troops are now part of federal government support.

More than 60 Myanmar Rohingya feared drowned
