Indian stocks hit record highs

Indian stocks have hit fresh record highs. 

This comes despite a technical glitch in the previous session which meant that trading on one of India's major exchanges was halted for three hours.

FBI: U.S. soldier arrested over alleged ISIS-terror ties

A serving U.S. soldier stationed in Hawaii has been arrested over alleged ties to the Islamic State.

The 34-year old suspect, named as Ikaika Erik Kang, was arrested by an FBI Swat team over the weekend,

According to charges filed in a Honolulu District Court, Kang swore allegiance to the ISIS and tried to provide training and military documents to the extremist group.

FBI spokesperson Paul Delacourt said the arrest followed a year-long investigation...

NYT: Trump Jnr told offer of info from Russian lawyer was part of Kremlin attempts to harm Clinton


Donald Trump Jr. was told prior to meeting a Russian attorney who had promised him damaging information on Hillary Clinton, that the material was part of a Russian government effort to help his father's presidential bid, the New York Times reported on Monday.

Three people familiar with the email told the Times it was sent to the President's eldest son ahead of last year's June meeting with the Russian lawyer.

USA deploys advanced anti-aircraft missiles to The Baltics

The USA has deployed long-range anti-aircraft missiles to The Baltics
for the first time.

They've been taken to Lithuania ahead of an exercise and will be

Syria ceasefire holds into first day of new intra-Syrian peace talks

The ceasefire in southwest Syria brokered by the US, Russia and Jordan, has largely been holding since going into effect Sunday, as a new round of UN-led peace talks began in Geneva. 


The UN Special envoy to Syria, Staffan de Mistura, hailed the de-escalation agreement, and expressed hope that it would contribute to talks this week between the Syrian government and the opposition.

Newspapers Want to Negotiate Collectively with "Digital Duopoloy" of Google and Facebook

US newspaper publishers are calling on federal lawmakers to grant them an exemption from antitrust rules to negotiate collectively with technology giants. Senators skeptical of Trump's son's tale

Top U.S. Senators are skeptical about the tale being told by Donald Trump Junior about his meeting with a Russian attorney last year.

The president's son says he's happy to speak with the Senate Intelligence Committee about that meeting, but he's also retained a lawyer to deal with queries into the ever-expanding Russia inquiry, according to Reuters.

Senator Mark Warner, the top Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee, expressed his skepticism, based on his own personal experience as a campaign manager and a candidate.

Cyber-threat from Russia - White House

The Trump administration is now conceding that there is a cyber threat from Russia.

U.S. President Donald Trump first tweeted that he discussed a cyber-security initiative with Russian President Vladimir Putin, then said it couldn't happen.

White House deputy spokesperson Sarah Huckabee Sanders said the president also heard the denials from the Russians about meddling in American politics, and she repeated that the opinion was to try to move forward.

White House denies legal questions for President's son

The White House is pushing back on the idea that the president's son might be in some sort of legal trouble for meeting with a Russian attorney.

The attorney promised information on then Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, but then did not provide any.

Scientists get close up view of Jupiter's red spot

NASA's Juno spacecraft is capturing unprecedented photos of Jupiter's giant red spot.

The probe is flying about five-and-a-half thousand miles above the spot which is actually a massive storm that's been raging on Jupiter for centuries.

Juno launched in 2011 and will continue to study Jupiter until its mission ends when it plunges into the planet's atmosphere.

Venezuelans Continue Protest after Lopez Released from Prison

One of Venezuela's most prominent opposition leaders is spending his first week at home in more than 3 years. 

Leopoldo Lopez was released from prison this weekend and granted house arrest….a move that Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said he hoped the opposition would take as a sign of peace.

US Lifts the Laptop Ban on Kuwaiti and Jordanian Airlines

The United States has lifted a laptop ban on two Middle Eastern
airlines, Royal Jordanian and Kuwait Airways.

They are the latest carriers, joining Emirates, Etihad Airways, Qatar
