Death with dignity debate in America following young woman's suicide

America's right-to-die debate has become a major social issue following the suicide of a young woman suffering from terminal brain cancer. 

Brittany Maynard has taken her own life, using her last weeks to publicise the issue on social media.

Towers were destroyed.

Tobacco giants win right to challenge EU packaging laws

Tobacco companies have  won a case at the UK's High court, meaning they can challenge new European Union rules that health warnings have to cover 65% of a cigarette packet. 

The case has been referred to the European Union's Court of Justice, as our UK correspondent Natalie Feary reports….

NTSB narrows down cause of space plane crash

Investigators are narrowing down what may have caused the crash of Virgin Galactic's space plane.

The vehicle broke apart during a test flight on Friday over California's Mojave Desert.

Argentina suspends Procter and Gamble's operations



Argentina says the operations of Procter and Gamble are suspended in the country, after accusing the world' number one household products maker of tax fraud. 

A Procter and Gamble spokesman has denied the accusations and said the company has always respected Argentinian laws.

UK Ebola aid appeal raises 10m


A UK appeal to help those affected by the Ebola outbreak in West Africa has raised 10 million pounds in just 5 days.


The UK Government matched the first 5 million and Buckingham Palace revealed that the Queen had also made a donation.

US suffers setback in Syria as it works on Iraq offensive

The United States is helping the Iraqi military prepare for a major offensive against forces of the so-called Islamic State.

The initial plan involves further use of US air power, as well as American trainers and advisers for Iraqi units.

Virgin's Galactic boss Branson vows to 'move forward' after fatal crash

Sir Richard Branson is refusing to speculate on what caused a Virgin Galactic spaceship to crash killing one of its pilots.

Investigators found a mechanism to help the craft's descent was deployed too early - but haven't said if human error was to blame.

The other pilot managed to escape and is in a stable condition.

VIRGIN GALACTIC SAFETY DEVICE 'DEPLOYED EARLY'

A Virgin Galactic spacecraft that crashed on Friday deployed a safety device too early, according to US investigators.

A 'feathering' device, supposed to slow the craft on re-entry, was enabled by a pilot, but activated too soon.

Virgin Galactic has rejected claims safety has not been its top priority.

The company aimed to send the first tourists into space in 2015, but this had already been delayed before the accident.

One of the two pilots died in Friday's crash.

Report: Merkel warns Cameron over immigration demands

German Chancellor Angela Merkel would rather see the United Kingdom leave the European Union than accept British Prime Minister David Cameron's immigration demands, according to Der Spiegel magazine. 

Cameron has proposed limiting the number of unskilled EU migrants allowed into the UK.

MURDER ACCUSED BRITISH BANKER APPEARS IN COURT

A British banker accused of the murder of two women in Hong Kong has appeared in court.

29 year-old Rurik Jutting was remanded in custody until another court date next week.

He was arrested after police found the bodies of the two women in his apartment in the Wan Chai area of the city at the weekend.

They are believed to be sex workers of Indonesian origin.

Mr Jutting recently resigned from his job at Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

EU condemns Ukraine militant vote as illegal

The EU has condemned as, "illegal," elections held by pro-Russia militants in two eastern Ukrainian regions.


The militants staged what they call parliamentary and presidential elections in the self-titled Donetsk and Luhansk people's republics, collectively known as the Donbass, which has seen fighting between the rebels and Ukrainian government forces for months.

Boko Haram dismiss release of abducted girls

INTRO:  International human rights groups have slammed a statement by the leader of the extremist group, Boko Haram, that the more than 200 schoolgirls abducted in Northern Nigeria have been converted to Islam and married off.

Pro-Russia militants hold elections in east Ukraine

Pro-Russia militants are holding elections in eastern Ukraine that Kiev and the west say are illegitimate.

Employment data takes center stage in the Wall St. Preview

Pentagon urges ex-Seal to not participate in Fox documentary

A former U.S. Navy Seal is promising to reveal that he is the individual who shot and killed Osama bin Laden on May 1, 2011.

The Pentagon is urging the man to withdraw his cooperation from the film, saying he is still bound by his non-disclosure agreements.

The documentary is set to air November 11 and 12 in the United States on on the Fox News Channel.

35th anniversary of the Iranian Hostage Crisis

Next week marks the 35th anniversary of the Iranian hostage crisis. 

52 Americans were captured and held for more than a year, after a group of Iranian students stormed the US embassy in Tehran.

The incident marked the start of the deterioration of relations between the two countries. But Robert McMahon from the Council on Foreign Relations think tank believes that the two are now uniting against a common enemy.
