Amazon agrees to record $2.5 billion settlement with FTC

Amazon has agreed to a record $2.5 billion settlement with the US Federal Trade Commission, ending a trial over allegations it tricked consumers into signing up for its Prime membership and made it too hard to cancel.

The deal includes billions in refunds for customers and new rules requiring the online retail giant to simplify its subscription process.

Abbas says he will work for peace and calls on Hamas to disarm

Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas says he's ready to work with work leaders to implement a plan for peace with Israel, proposed by France.

US economy grows in second quarter

4 killed, scores injured as statehood protest turn deadly in India's Ladakh
