Brittney Griner’s Russia detention extended by 6 months

Brittney Griner's Russian detention has been extended by another six months, pending the outcome of her trial which is scheduled to start on Friday.

The basketball superstar was arrested in mid-February for allegedly carrying vape cartridges containing cannabis oil.

US stocks start the trading week with losses

U.S. stocks failed to maintain a recent rally as the three major index
closed Monday in the red.

NATO to boost high readiness troops to 300,000

NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg says leaders of the defensive alliance will agree to boost its number of high readiness forces from 40,000 to at least 300,000 when they meet in Madrid for a summit this week.

NATO allies have already been beefing up deployments on the alliance's Eastern flank, but Stoltenberg says the new move will amount to the biggest overall in the alliance's collective defense since the cold war.

At least 10 dead after Russian attack on "crowded" Ukrainian shopping centre

At least ten people have been killed and more than 40 injured after Russian forces bombarded a crowded shopping center in the central Ukrainian city of Kremenchuk.


Rescue efforts are underway to find more victims who are feared to be buried beneath the rubble of the building.


President Volodymyr Zelensky says there could have been as many as one thousand people in the shopping center at the time the attack occurred.

Zelensky: Untold casualties in Russian attack on Ukrainian shopping centre

President Volodymyr Zelensky says there are an untold number of casualties after Russian forces bombarded a shopping centre in the central Ukrainian city of Kremenchuk.


Video taken at the scene shows the building fully engulfed by flames.


There are reports that hundreds of people may have been inside it when the Russian bombardment began.


The attack came on the day G7 leaders pledged fresh support for Ukraine at their summit in Bavaria.
