Authorities in Nigeria's northwest state of Zamfara have asked residents of the state to buy weapons for self defense against terrorists who have been attacking them for years.
The state is one of many in the country's northern region battling insecurity such as terror attacks, kidnapping for ransom, killing of innocent citizens and cattle rustling.
