CAMERON FIRES UK ELECTION STARTING GUN

British Prime Minister David Cameron has visited the Queen to formally mark the end of the coalition government formed in 2010.

He informed her Britain's Parliament has been dissolved ahead of one of the closest general election races in decades.

Mr Cameron's Conservative Party is neck and neck in the polls with opposition Labour.

But a series of smaller parties threaten to win more votes than ever before.

Which makes this campaign unpredictable, according to UK correspondent Olly Barratt.
