UK PARLIAMENT DISSOLVED AS ELECTION CAMPAIGN OFFICIALLY UNDERWAY

Britain's Parliament has been dissolved ahead of one of the closest general election races in decades.

Prime Minister David Cameron will visit (has visited) the Queen to formally mark the end of the coalition government formed in 2010.
