Hollywood Legend Gene Hackman Found Dead

The actor Gene Hackman and his wife have been found dead at their home in the US state of New Mexico.


Best known for films including The French Connection and Bonnie and Clyde, the two-time Oscar-winner was 95. He retired from acting in the early 2000s, making very few public appearances since then.


Authorities in Santa Fe say there are no suggestions of any foul play.


He reflected on his career during an acceptance speech at the 2003 Golden Globes:

Hamas and Israel complete final exchange of first phase but uncertainty remains over Gaza ceasefire

Former Hong Kong lawmaker, 6 others jailed for rioting after 2019 mob attack

Nigerian agency seeks death penalty for selling counterfeit drugs

French Catholic school abuse scandal widens

Dozens more complaints have been raised over widespread abuse at a Catholic boarding school in France.

More than 150 allegations of physical, psychological and sexual abuse against pupils from the 1950s until 2010 have so far been raised about the Betharram (PRON: Better-ramm) school in southern France.
