The actor Gene Hackman and his wife have been found dead at their home in the US state of New Mexico.
Best known for films including The French Connection and Bonnie and Clyde, the two-time Oscar-winner was 95. He retired from acting in the early 2000s, making very few public appearances since then.
Authorities in Santa Fe say there are no suggestions of any foul play.
He reflected on his career during an acceptance speech at the 2003 Golden Globes:
In: "I think it's…"
Out: "…of my dreams."
