Former Hong Kong lawmaker, 6 others jailed for rioting after 2019 mob attack

INTRO: A Hong Kong court jailed a prominent former pro-democracy lawmaker and six others on Thursday for rioting in relation to a mob attack in 2019 during the height of that year's pro-democracy protests.

Six other men who stood trial with Lam were handed sentences ranging from two years and one month to two years and seven months. Laura Westbrook reports from Hong Kong.
