BLINKEN TRAVELS TO POLAND AFTER MILITARY AID TALKS IN UKRAINE

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken wraps up a three nation tour of Europe Thursday with the trip focussed on getting an updated assessment on the situation in Ukraine.

The secretary is in Poland where he will speak to government officials before returning to Washington.

Spain's Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez is meeting with Venezuelan opposition leader Edmundo Gonzalez, amid a fierce debate over recognising him as the country's president-elect.

Pakistan hosts SCO trade summit

US inflation cooled in August according to CPI report

US inflation continued to cool last month, according to new figures from the labour department. 


The consumer price index increased 0.2% in August, in line with expectations - with market watchers optimistic a rate cut will be on the cards later this month.
