U.S. highest court considering punishment for homeless public sleeping


The U.S. Supreme Court heard arguments on Monday weighing up whether it's ok for a city to punish homeless people for camping on public property when they have nowhere else to go.

The case was ruled against in a lower court on appeal based on the Eight Amendment against 'cruel and unusual' punishment.

US and Philippines hold military drills in face of China fury

The United States and the Philippines have launched their most expansive and expensive joint military drills in years — a major show of allied force around the South China Sea.

European countries suffered a record number of days of extreme heat stress last year, according to a report from the World Meteorological Organization.

The report said that the Europeans are dying from hot weather 30% more than they did two decades ago.

UK Houses Of Lords And Commons Face Showdown Over Rwanda Asylum Plan

The UK's upper and lower chambers of Parliament are facing a deciding showdown over the Government's Rwanda Safety Bill. 


The House of Lords has repeatedly blocked or amended the Government's proposed legislation which seeks to rule Rwanda a safe country to send asylum seekers.
