Oprah Winfrey to leave WeightWatchers

American TV host Oprah Winfrey says she is stepping down from her role at WeightWatchers.


The TV personality has served on the weight loss company's board of directors for nine years.


In response to the announcement, WeightWatchers' stock plunged 17% on Thursday.

More than 100 killed in Gaza while awaiting aid

Health officials in Gaza say more than 100 people have been killed and hundreds were injured while they were queuing for aid in Gaza City. UN criticizes Ghana's anti-LGBTIQ+ laws

The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights has criticised
Ghana's parliament after it passed a bill making identifying as LGBTQ+
illegal.
The new bill imposes a prison sentence of up to three years for anyone
convicted of identifying as LGBTQ+ and also imposes a maximum
five-year jail term for forming or funding LGBTQ+ groups.
Spokesperson for the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human
Rights Ravina Shamdasani says the bill "is profoundly disturbing."

Inflation gauge holds steady in January

A key inflation gauge watched closely by the U.S. Federal Reserve has
posted its lowest annual increase since March 2021.

Putin warns West with nuclear war threat

UK PRIME MINISTER WARNS "MOB RULE" IS HARMING DEMOCRACY

Nigeria Detains Two Binance Executives

Authorities in Nigeria have detained two senior executives of Binance, a company that engages in daily trading of cryptocurrencies.


Their passports have also been seized.


One of them is said to be an American, and the other a Briton.

UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has announced a £72 million security package for Jewish schools, synagogues and community centres.
