Voters head to polls to replace US lawmaker George Santos

Voting is underway in the special election to replace disgraced US lawmaker George Santos in New York.


The Republican Representative was expelled from Congress in December after being charged with fraud, money laundering, and lying to lawmakers.


Now, Long Island residents are choosing his replacement. 


But there are concerns bad weather could impact turnout - with up to eight inches of snow expected in surrounding areas.

Leader of Spanish opposition opens the door to pardon for Carles Puigdemont

Roads leading to Delhi blocked to halt farmers' march

Thousands of farmers in India are marching towards the capital of New Delhi to demand better crop prices.

Farmer leaders issued a call to go ahead with the protest after their five-hour long meeting with central ministers on Monday remained inconclusive.

India's Paytm shares slump to record low following downgrade

Lloyd Austin will not travel to Europe this week due to ongoing health issues


The US Defense Secretary will not travel to Brussels for NATO and Ukraine meetings, after being hospitalised again on Sunday.

The Pentagon said his deputy is acting up and will go to Europe in his place.

Police probe antisemitism as Houston church shooting motive

Police are investigating whether anti-semitism was the motive that led a 36-year-old woman to open fire at one of America's biggest churches. 


Authorities say her seven-year-old son, who she brought with her to the church in Houston, was shot and is now "fighting for his life".
