Embattled head of the National Rifle Association, Wayne LaPierre has resigned.
LaPierre headed the U.S' largest gun-rights group for close to three
decades and is set to go on trial in New York for alleged corruption

British Police Say No Investigation Into Prince Andrew Following Naming In Epstein Papers

US economy adds 216,000 jobs in December, beating expectations

The US economy added more jobs in December than expected, while the
unemployment rate remained steady at 3.7%.

Two more U.S. states consider removing Trump from primary ballots


Groups in Illinois and Massachuttes have filed motions to remove former U.S. President Donald Trump from the ballot this year.
It follows rulings in Colorado and Maine in which those states found Trump ineligible because of his role in the January 6th attacks.

Biden gives plea to defend democracy from Trump

President Joe Biden is making a major speech (later today, Friday) to mark three years since the deadly assault on the US Capitol building, during which he'll suggest his top rival for the Oval Office, Donald Trump, poses an existential threat to democracy.


The address at a historic Revolutionary War site comes a day before the anniversary of the riot on January 6th 2021, when a mob of supporters of then-President Trump stormed the United States Congress in Washington DC in an effort to overturn election defeat.

Second leg of Indian opposition's Unite India March renamed

NYC sues bus companies over migrants row

"Multiple" victims reported at US high school shooting

Police have responded to a shooting at a high school in the US state
of Iowa, where there are reports that multiple people have been shot.
