US economy adds 216,000 jobs in December, beating expectations

The US economy added more jobs in December than expected, while the
unemployment rate remained steady at 3.7%.

The latest data could be a sign the country will avoid a 'hard
landing' recession after the volatility of the pandemic and aggressive
interest rate hikes.
